Broadcasted on Facebook Live, four blacks kidnapped and tortured a disabled white teen in Chicago earlier this week. The victim was held captive, forced to drink toilet water and pinned into a corner while the four teens brutally victimized him.
The group held the teen at knifepoint then proceeded to scalp, and stab him in the head. In addition, they shouted “Fuck Donald Trump,” and “Fuck white people!”
The video lasted approximately 30 minutes on Facebook, however, the disabled teen was said to have been held captive for 24 to 48 hours. He was later found by the police on the streets bloody and disoriented.
All four teens were arrested and taken into custody. ABC7 of Chicago has reported that all four were charged with “aggravated kidnapping, hate crime, aggravated unlawful restraint and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, according to the Cook County state’s attorney.” The four responsible are identified as Jordan Hill, Tesfaye Cooper, Brittany Covington, and Tanishia Covington. All of whom are 18 years old, except for Tanishia, who is 24.
Although justice will be served, the mainstream media, who loves talking about race, refused to acknowledge the racism portrayed by these kidnappers. During the dawn of the outrage, Chicago Police Commander, Kevin Duffin made it clear in a press conference that “they’re just young adults, and they make stupid decisions.”
Then CNN anchor, Don Lemon, who recently made a fool of himself at his New Year’s coverage, said he “[didn’t] believe it was evil”.
In addition, CNN contributor, Symone Sanders said that people shouldn’t “callously go about classifying things as a hate crime”. Symone explained that since the hate was politically charged against Donald Trump, the attack “is not a hate crime.”
The FBI identifies a hate crime as “criminal offense against a person or property motivated in whole or in part by an offender’s bias against a race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, ethnicity, gender, or gender identity.”
Yet, according to Symone teens yelling “Fuck white people” isn’t enough information to classify this as a hate crime. Even if the teens were motivated by his disability rather than his skin color, it would still be classified as a such.
Reflecting on the incident, it is understandable as to why Symone didn’t classify the attack as hate crime. Symone was the national press secretary for none other than Bernie Sanders. It was Sanders who said at a Democratic debate that white people didn’t know what it was like to be “hassled when you are walking down a street of dragged out of a car.”
This may also explain why Symone also stated that “we don’t need white people leading the democratic party right now,” which was once again on CNN.
If the roles were reversed, media coverage would extend for a full week, and CNN’s panel would be up in arms about hate crimes against Blacks. Riots from Black Lives Matter would also likely appear in the streets of Chicago. Since it was the reverse, only a day coverage, and a total of 0 riots took place.
