Maddow’s Blunder Watched By 4 Million. Tops Cable News Ratings

On Tuesday night, Rachel Maddow released a huge report that broke political headlines. Maddow planned to release President Trump’s tax returns to America once and for all. Many believed it would reveal that Trump didn’t pay taxes as The New York Times hinted at. However, it turned out to be a huge blunder and nothing at all.

Although Maddow took 20 minutes to get to the topic, The White House even released the information before Maddow could break the news. Once the information spread, it turned out to be a let down for the anti-Trump movement.

In fact, it proved that President Trump paid $38 million in taxes to the government. With a tax rate of 25% in 2005, the narrative that Trump never pays taxes was dismantled. President Trump’s tax surpassed NBC’s 24%, who is the parent company of MSNBC.

Leftist media went as far as to oust Maddow for her performance. CNBC writer Jay Yarow admitted that “Donald Trump just got a nice victory thanks to Rachel Maddow.”

Even leftists late night shows made fun of her. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert made a full sketch making fun of the whole show.

Just today, releases of cable news ratings were made public. TVNewser has reported that Maddow’s show brought in “4.13 million viewers,” being ” the No. 1 cable news program of the night, and “the No. 3 show on all of TV in its 9 p.m. timeslot.”

Mainstream media could only hold their breath for the past day in hope that viewership was down. If viewers didn’t tune in, then perhaps their narrative and Maddow’s career could be saved.

Unfortunately for them, Maddow was great with viewership, as well as disappointment.

As The White House stated, “You know you are desperate for ratings when you are willing to violate the law to push a story about two pages of tax returns from over a decade ago.” Maddow and MSNBC got just what they wanted: good ratings.
